Objective:
- Understand the 4H Framework (Headline, Heart, Head, Hope) for crafting compelling pitches.
- Apply the 4H Framework to classic movie posters to evaluate their effectiveness as pitches.
- Engage in group discussion to analyse and discuss how each movie poster fulfils or falls short of the 4H Framework.
- Reflect on the insights gained from evaluating movie posters and apply the 4H Framework to personal pitching efforts in the future.
Overview:
In this 45-minute session, participants will learn about the 4H Framework for crafting compelling pitches, which includes Headline, Heart, Head, and Hope. They will explore how storytelling can enhance pitch effectiveness and apply this framework to evaluate classic movie posters. Through individual assessment and group discussion, participants will analyse how each poster aligns with the 4H Framework, gaining insights to apply in their own pitching endeavours.
Activity:
Welcome participants and introduce the topic of crafting compelling pitches using the 4H Framework.
Explain the importance of storytelling in pitching and introduce the concept of using classic movie posters as examples.
Overview of the 4H Framework (10 minutes)
Provide an overview of the 4H Framework: Headline, Heart, Head, Hope.
Explain each component of the framework and its significance in crafting a compelling pitch.
Applying the 4H Framework to Classic Movie Posters (12 minutes)
Display the first movie poster.
Give participants 3 minutes to individually assess the poster using the 4H Framework.
Repeat the process for the remaining three movie posters.
Feedback & Discussion (15 minutes)
Encourage individuals to share which posteris their best and worst.
Facilitate a group discussion where participants share their assessments of each movie poster.
Encourage participants to discuss how each poster fulfils or falls short of the 4H Framework.
Use the whiteboard or flip chart to capture key insights and observations from the discussion.
Reflection and Conclusion (3 minutes)
Allow participants a moment to reflect on the insights gained from evaluating the movie posters through the lens of the 4H Framework.
Summarise the key points discussed during the session.
Invite participants to apply the 4H Framework to their own pitching efforts in the future.
Q&A and Closing (5 minutes)
Open the floor for any remaining questions or comments from participants.
Thank participants for their participation and encourage them to use the skills learned in their future pitching endeavours.
